Spiritual Life Ministry Teams

This is an essential ministry at The Barn. Our small group leaders are “connectors” between our members and those on our pastoral ministry team. If you would like to host and/or lead a small group at The Barn, please contact Lynn Latshaw (click to email).

While all in Christ are to pray, some are called to pray more than others. If prayer is a passion for you, join our network of intercessors!

Typical commitment: 4 days per month for 1 hour.

At The Barn, we pray regularly to heal the sick in Jesus’ name. If you are trained in this ministry or want to be trained so that you can serve here in this way, contact us.

This team stands at the front of the sanctuary and prays for those who want to receive prayer ministry during call-forwards at The Barn. If you would like to be a part of this large team, contact us.

The Barn is a church that highly values and releases personal prophetic ministry. We offer training periodically in this area of ministry. If you are trained or want to be trained to serve at The Barn as one of our prophetic ministers, please contact us.

This ministry provides healing for those suffering ongoing emotional pain from life’s wounds. If you want to serve on this team, please contact us. Some training is needed.

The Pneuma Center is a cluster of Barn ministries that provide personal inner healing, deliverance, spiritual counsel, and soaking prayer for those on their way to wholeness in Christ. Pneuma Center ministers to all, not just those at The Barn. No fees.

This 9-month training school functions as the 3rd part of The Barn’s discipleship program to equip established believers in how to walk and minister victoriously in the kingdom of God. Fee-based, SoKM features a video-based curriculum followed by hands-on facilitation and real life activation into charismatic ministry.

FatherHeart Ministries is a foundational discipleship ministry at The Barn. Its purpose is to release the experiential knowledge of the Father’s great love for His sons and daughters in Christ, and our identity in Him. It is carried out through small groups, one-day seminars, and weekend workshops.

HSN is a bi-monthly special meeting at The Barn featuring guest speakers, extended worship, and personal ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. Typically on a Friday evening starting at 7pm, this gathering is multi-church, tri-state in scope, and generates “kingdom-come” power for revival in our region and throughout the world.

Sunday Morning Hospitality Teams

Our goal is for everyone who enters our building to be met with a powerful dose of God’s love that loudly says, “You are welcome here!” To facilitate that, our team of greeters and welcomers are trained to greet our guests, answer their questions, and help them get guest info and find seats in the main auditorium. If you are a warm and friendly type of person with a gift of hospitality, we would love for you to serve on this team.

Typical commitment: 1 Sunday per month for 20 minutes.

This ministry blesses all of us with hot drinks and food before the Sunday meeting. If you like serving people and are friendly, this is the place for you!

At The Barn we celebrate Communion every Sunday. We are looking for volunteers to clean up the communion trays and baskets after every service.

Typical commitment: 1 Sunday per month for 30 minutes.

It takes a lot of detail-oriented people to make a church run smoothly. People to collect offerings, hand out sign-up sheets, compile information, send out information, etc. Have a passion for things like that? We are always looking for gifted administrators!

Children and Youth Ministry Teams

This is ministry, not just childcare. Our newborns and toddlers need loving men and women to hold them and pray blessing over them on Sundays! Is that you? If so contact us.

This is a fun class! Two and three year olds are at such an important time in their lives where they begin to really understand the lessons. Many kids raised in Christian homes accept Jesus when they are 3 or 4. Would you like to be part of this ministry? If so, contact us.

We have fun, spiritually rich classes for first through fifth graders on Sunday mornings. We teach the basic Bible stories plus train and model how kids can minister to one another through prayer and encouragement. Most people who are going accept Jesus accept Him in this age group between 7 – 12. Want to teach or volunteer to help with this age group? Of course we need you! Contact us.

Middle School teens meet on a Sunday morning after the main worship session.

In addition, The Barn Youth Group, open to all teens 6th through 12th grade, meets on Sunday evenings at 6pm.

Worship Arts Ministry Teams

If you are gifted musically (either instrumentally, vocally, or both), feel called to be a part of the worship team at The Barn, and have been a member with us for at least 6 months we invite you to contact us for more information regarding the audition process.

Typical commitment: 4 times per month for 3 hours.

Drama is one of many expresssions of Christian artistic gifts at The Barn. If you are gifted in this area and want to serve God through drama, contact us.

The Barn Dance Ministry is a team of worshippers who express the Father’s heart through movement. We seek His vision and purpose and portray that through the visual art of dance. If you have a prophetic gifting, and need to release the worship inside of you through expression, then you would fit perfectly in this ministry. NO dance experience necessary.

Typical commitment: 1 time per week for 2 hours.

This ministry team consists of artists gifted in painting. Two or three on a rotating basis stand next to the worship team on stage and paint as led by the Spirit during worship. Their creations are then displayed in our building as part of the culture of worship at The Barn.

If you have a good “ear” for sound and are “tech-savvy”, this is a good place for you to volunteer your time and skills to serve the entire church. We provide training for those interested.

Our projection team members take care of advancing slides during worship, announcements, and teachings at Sunday services and during special gatherings. Plus if a video is played, they typically manage that. Training is offered. You will serve on a rotating basis.

Practical Life Ministry Teams

The Barn owns nearly 15 acres of land and two buildings. Lots of work is needed to maintain and keep these buildings and grounds in good shape. If you are gifted in mowing, landscaping, general maintenance and repair, and are willing to serve all of us, contact us!

The Information Technology team maintains all of the computing, networking, and digital communications throughout the Barn. If you have a gift for technology and want to contribute to a team that interacts with nearly all other areas of the church or want to learn about technology, the IT team may be for you. Do you love kids? Want to make some extra money? We have several meetings that need babysitters year round, like Holy Spirit Night, School of Kingdom Ministry, and Celebrate Recovery. You can be as young as 13 or as old as the hills:) Contact us to get on the list for babysitting opportunities!

We host many summer picnics and other special in-house and outreach events during the year. Lots of man (and woman)-power is needed so we don’t end up overworking just a few. Plus working with others is a good way to make new friends in a church. If you want to be part of the team that organizes and pulls off these events, please contact us.

We bless parents of new babies with homemade meals for the first few days after a baby is born. If you like to cook for others, make sure to sign up when sign-up sheets for new parents meals go around or contact us.

Taking God's Love Out

This is an encouragement ministry where volunteers look for opportunities to send notes to people who are sick, homebound, or simply going through a tough time. If interested in being a part of this team, contact us.

Our Non-Profit Partners

FO is a compassion-based ministry to the urban population in Wilmington, DE. This ministry has its own board, directors, and volunteers who give their time and skills to see urban kids and families walk with Jesus and be mentored to experience success in life.

Many volunteers are needed to drive kids from Wilmington to The Barn, and to love and mentor kids in many ways.

The Barn partners with other local churches to house and feed families experiencing homelessness in Chester County through an organization, Family Promise of Chester County. The Barn hosts these families for one week each quarter. Volunteers are needed to provide meals, fellowship time, and overnight supervision during the week we host.

Typical commitment: 4 times per year for 1 evening/night.

The Barn supplies volunteers on a rotating basis to support Paris Foundation. Paris Foundation is a Christian non-profit that gives away food and other resources to the homeless in Elkton, MD. If you want to volunteer some of your time, please reach out to us.

Good Neighbors is a multi-church Christian non-profit organization founded to assist elderly and low-income homeowners by restoring/repairing their homes and their hopes through Christ-centered work and witness. Started in PA, GN now serves DE and MD communities. Many Barn members serve on GN’s board of leaders. Their hearty yet gentle volunteers (including many teens from church youth groups) know how to build decks, and friendships, all at no charge. If you want to volunteer your skills and time, please reach out.

In many rural villages in Togo, West Africa, lack of clean water results in many serious health problems. This ministry sponsors annual trips to Togo to install and maintain wells in villages in order to bring clean groundwater to the surface for daily use, and to share the love and gospel of Jesus.
